General information

You can order works that are present in neither the Austrian National Library nor in any other freely accessible Viennese library, using our service (incurring charges) to fetch works from another Austrian or European library. Orders from libraries outside Europe are possible only in exceptional cases.

In addition to ordering books, copies of articles from newspapers, periodicals and books can be obtained.
Please make sure by checking through the catalogues to be mentioned below whether the literature you wish for is in fact not present in a Viennese library.

Ordering

If you have ascertained that your request can be fulfilled only by an interlibrary loan, please fill in the appropriate order form. When the ordered work has arrived – please allow for a period of 2 to 3 weeks for that to happen – you will be informed through email.

Use

Collection and return of books, collection of copies and payment of fees is handled at the issue desk of the Main Reading Room (Reading Room 1), Mon - Sun, 9 am - 8.30 pm.
