Department of Graphic Design (Broadsheets, Posters, and Ex Libris)

The Broadsheet Collection was set up in 1912 as a separate section of the royal and imperial Court Library. Since taking over the war collection (on the First World War) it also collects Austrian placards on politics and culture. At the moment it administers some 400,000 objects, to which ex libris have been counted since 1995; hence it offers to researchers a rich source of material on Austrian history, politics, graphic design, art, and science. An independent technical library (call number addendum FLU) completes the information offer.
