Annual maintenance work will take place again this summer, which is why the reading rooms at the Heldenplatz location and in all collections will be closed from Saturday, July 26, to Wednesday, August 5, 2026.
Due to the shutdown of the ordering system, no media orders can be accepted from Friday, July 24, 2026, 4 p.m. to Wednesday, August 5, 2026, 4 p.m. The regular opening hours will then apply again from Thursday, August 6, 2026.
The study room of the Albertina is closed from July 15 to August 15, 2026.
The Augustinian Reading Room, the former library hall of the Augustinian monastery, offers a magnificent setting for unforgettable evenings. The baroque ambience of the monastic reading room features antique reading tables where guests can be served an exclusive dinner. The entire room is decorated with frescoes by Johann Bergl.
The Augustinian reading room is one of the most exclusive rooms in Vienna. Surrounded by valuable books, an additional highlight can be set with a musical performance.
