Reference works present an introduction to the field of women's and gender studies and their various thematic focal points. The bibliographies, handbooks, lexicons, encyclopaedias etc. are described in brief and marked with location and shelfmark. You can either find them in the open access areas of the reading rooms at Heldenplatz – Main Reading Room (L), Ludwig Wittgenstein Research Reading Room (FOR), Austriaca (AUT) – in each case under the classification GEN, or you can order them from the stacks via the QuickSearch catalogue.

The Augustinian Reading Room will be closed on February 10, 2025. As a substitute, the Reading Room of the Collection of Manuscripts and Old Prints (Josefsplatz 1 in the left wing of the building, Manuscripts Staircase 2nd floor) will be available during regular opening hours.
