Ever since it was founded, the Department of Papyri has also been a research centre for scholars working to decode, edit and evaluate the texts.
In this way, we fulfil our mandate and prepare the highly demanding original artefacts, setting them in their historical context and making them accessible for a wider circle of academics and interested parties. Depending on the content of the texts, these researchers come from the fields of history, linguistics and law, theology and philology.
Due to an event, the State Hall will close at 6 p.m. on Thursday, October, 24, at 4 p.m. on Friday, November 1 and at 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 14.
