Brief description

The Salzburg Bachmann Edition presents Ingeborg Bachmann's prose, poems and essays, radio plays, libretti, and correspondence in the form of an integrated edition.
The previously published work and the previously unpublished and unknown estate materials are provided as a reliable textual basis. The texts are supplemented by in-depth commentaries based on the current state of research, which make Bachmann's work accessible in a new way. The commentary focuses on the writing biographical context, the work and reception historical contexts, the intertextual dimensions, the process of the work's creation, and the surviving textual geneses.

Brief description
 
The digital edition PETER HANDKE NOTIZBÜCHER is a cooperative project between the Literary Archives of the Austrian National Library in Vienna (LIT/ÖNB) and the German Literary Archives in Marbach (DLA), funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) and the German Research Foundation (DFG). 
 
The notebooks
 
Peter Handke's notebooks are an important and hitherto unpublished complex of works by the Austrian winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature. They are not only his most important working tool for preparing works, developing his poetics, commenting on readings, or noting travels. His daily "reportage" of poetically relevant impressions of consciousness of all kinds, also in the form of drawings, which began in March 1976, make the notebooks unique documents and indispensable sources for Handke research. They are considered the key to interpreting the work and the basis for future text-critical editions. 
 
Edition plan
 
Currently, 75 notebooks from the period 1971 to 1990 (10,900 pages) are accessible in public archives. During the project period from February 2021 to February 2024, 22 notebooks from 1976 to 1979 (2989 pages in total) will be edited, documenting Handke's practice in journal writing and accompanying the creation of his film narrative "Die linkshändige Frau" and the tetralogy "Langsame Heimkehr".
 
Digital Edition
 
The edition will be realized within the Sustainable Infrastructure for Digital Editions at the Austrian National Library on the technical basis of GAMS. The notebooks will be transcribed, edited and annotated according to the current standards of digital editing using XML/TEI, links to external norm data (GND, VIAF, Wikidata, geonames) and the use of adequate technologies (Transkribus, Oxygen, GitLab, IIIF). The online presentation will include a synoptic view of facsimiles with a diplomatic transcription, a reading version, and an XML/TEI representation. Detailed descriptions introduce each notebook, and comments, indexes, and a search function are natural components of the online presentation. All research data are archived for the long term and made openly available for subsequent use.

Kurzbeschreibung 
Ödön von Horváth (1901-1938) ist ein Klassiker der Moderne. Seine Stücke gehören seit vielen Jahrzehnten zu den meistgespielten des deutschsprachigen Raumes. Sein Roman „Jugend ohne Gott“ ist fixer Bestandteil eines (Schul-)Kanons der Lektüre. Das gegenständliche Projekt dient dem Abschluss der historisch-kritischen Edition, die seit 2009 im Berliner Verlag de Gruyter erscheint und von denen drei Bände ausständig sind. Darüber hinaus widmet sich das Projekt der Erweiterung der digitalen Dramen-Edition des Autors, von der bislang protoptypisch allein das berühmteste Stück des Autors, „Geschichten aus dem Wiener Wald“, vorliegt. Zur Dissemination der Forschungsergebnisse trägt die Erstellung eines Handbuches bei, dessen Fehlen im Fall Horváth von der Fachwissenschaft seit langem beklagt wird. Der Abschluss der Ausgabe, die insgesamt eines der größten derzeit laufenden Editionsprojekte zur Literatur des 20. Jahrhunderts ist, wird von einem internationalen Fachsymposium gerahmt.
Die historisch-kritische Ausgabe Ödön von Horváths legt einen besonderen Akzent auf die Darstellung der Textgenese und schärft damit den Blick auf die Produktionsweise einiger der wirkmächtigsten Texte der deutschsprachigen Literatur. In insgesamt neunzehn Bänden umfasst die Ausgabe alle abgeschlossenen und Fragment gebliebenen Werke des Autors sowie alle Notizbücher, Briefe und Lebensdokumente. Damit bietet sie der literatur- und theaterwissenschaftlichen Forschung erstmals eine vollständige und gesicherte Text- und Quellenbasis und stellt einer kulturwissenschaftlichen Forschung, die an Fragen der Materialität und Genealogie des Schreibens interessiert ist, ein wichtiges Korpus zur Verfügung. Unmittelbare Anwendung findet die Ausgabe über die Fachwissenschaften hinaus im Bereich der zeitgenössischen Theaterpraxis. Mehrere Inszenierungen an großen deutschen und österreichischen Bühnen haben das in den letzten Jahren bewiesen.
Die digitale Edition (derzeitiger Stand einsehbar unter: https://gams.uni-graz.at/context:ohad) wird im Rahmen des Projekts auf alle Stücke des Autors ausgedehnt. Spezifische Tools (wie z.B. die Möglichkeit, sich Figurennetzwerke erstellen zu lassen) machen die Werke des Autors und ihre Strukturen in Paradigmen zugänglich, die die Digital Humanities gesetzt haben. Ein Ziel des gegenständlichen Projektes ist es, das Potential solcher Ansätze zu zeigen und es gleichzeitig vor dem Hintergrund klassischer Editionsmethodik und Interpretation zu diskutieren.
