The Department of Planned Languages of the Austrian National Library is home to the world’s largest specialist library for interlinguistics, documenting around 500 planned languages. In addition to Esperanto, the most important planned language in the world today, these also include Volapük, Ido, Interlingua and many others. In the department’s reading room, discover a whole host of books and magazines in planned languages, multifaceted archives and impressive musical recordings and films.
The reading rooms at Heldenplatz and the collections are closed on public holidays so as on April 7, 8, 9 and 10, 2023.
In the museums - despite of the State Hall - the regular opening hours are valid. The State Hall is open on Monday April 10.
Due to an employees meeting the Reading Rooms at Heldenplatz, the Department of Manuscripts and Rare Books and the Archives of the Austrian Folk Song Institute do not open before 11.30 a.m. on April 13. For the State Hall as well as the museums the regular opening hours are valid.
