The Department of Planned Languages of the Austrian National Library is home to the world’s largest specialist library for interlinguistics, documenting around 500 planned languages. In addition to Esperanto, the most important planned language in the world today, these also include Volapük, Ido, Interlingua and many others. In the department’s reading room, discover a whole host of books and magazines in planned languages, multifaceted archives and impressive musical recordings and films.
Due to an employees meeting the Reading Rooms at Heldenplatz and the collections do not open before 11.30 a.m. on December 19. For the State Hall as well as the museums the regular opening hours are valid.
The reading rooms at Heldenplatz and the collections are closed on public holidays so as on December 8, December 24, December 25, December 26 and December 31, 2022; January 1 and January 6, 2023.
