Using the Picture Archives
Are you looking for historic image material? You're bound to strike lucky with us!
You can choose one of the following processes:
1. Order an item
Your » library card for the Austrian National Library also gives you access to the Picture Archives. Here you can order any item or book in the collection and – provided there are no special conservation restrictions – you will normally be able to look at it the next day in the Department's reading rooms.
2. Search online
You can use our » catalogue QuickSearch and our » Catalogues and » Database to search our holdings online.
3. Submit a search request
Our experts will be pleased to help you with your research. They do not charge for providing basic information or dealing with search requests that take up to 30 minutes. For a fee (from EUR 40 for the first hour and then EUR 20 for every additional half hour or part thereof), you can request a search for images on subjects of your choice.
Reproductions
If you require scans of items in our collection, you can request these from Customer Services. If you wish to use an image for publication purposes, we charge a usage fee according to our current tariff regulations.
