The Department of Planned Languages of the Austrian National Library is home to the world’s largest specialist library for interlinguistics, documenting around 500 planned languages. In addition to Esperanto, the most important planned language in the world today, these also include Volapük, Ido, Interlingua and many others. In the department’s reading room, discover a whole host of books and magazines in planned languages, multifaceted archives and impressive musical recordings and films.
Masks are no longer required in all indoor spaces. There is also no need for a 2G certificate.
The reading rooms at Heldenplatz and the collections are closed on Thursday 26 May (Ascension Day), Sunday 5 June and Monday 6 June (Pentecoste) and Thursday 16 June (Corpus Christi).
In the museums the regular opening hours are valid.
