Welcome to the Archives of the Austrian Folk Song Institute of the Austrian National Library. It is our duty to collect, archive, document and provide access to folk songs, folk music, folk dancing and folk poetry of the past and present.

Opening hours public holidays

The reading rooms at Heldenplatz and the collections are closed on Thursday 26 May (Ascension Day), Sunday 5 June and Monday 6 June (Pentecoste) and Thursday 16 June (Corpus Christi).
In the museums the regular opening hours are valid.

Modified opening hours on May 19

Due to an employees meeting the Library at Heldenplatz and the collections do not open before 11.30 a.m. on May 19. For the State Hall as well as the museums the regular opening hours are valid.

Reading rooms, Collections and Museums

Masks are no longer required in all indoor spaces. There is also no need for a 2G certificate.
