Due to the current events in connection with the terrorist attack and the recommendation of the Interior Ministry to avoid the City of Vienna, all reading rooms of the Austrian National Library will remain closed today, November 3, 2020.
Due to official requirements the State Hall and all museums of the Austrian National Library are closed from November 3 estimated until the end of November. The reading rooms at Heldenplatz and the reading rooms of the collections remain open. Due to the curfew between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the opening times of the reading rooms at Heldenplatz is reduced from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The safety of our readers and museum visitors still has top priority. Mouth and nose masks are mandatory in all public areas, also at the reading place. There is no mask requirement for people with a medical certificate. We ask all of our readers and museum visitors to bring their own mouth and nose mask and to always keep a minimum distance of one meter on site.
