The safety of our readers and museum visitors has top priority. Hand disinfectants are therefore available at all locations (museums and reading rooms). Due to official requirements, mouth and nose masks are mandatory in all public areas. There is no mask requirement for children up to 6 years and for people with a medical certificate. We ask all of our readers and museum visitors to bring their own mouth and nose mask and to always keep a minimum distance of one meter on site (exception: people who live in the same household).
The library and departments are closed on public holidays, including October 26 and November 1; on November 2 they close at 12 noon.
The regular opening times apply in the museums - with the exception of Monday, October 26: on the national holiday, the State Hall, the Literature, Globe and Esperanto Museum and the House of Austrian History are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
