Glockendon’s opulent prayer book

In the Middle Ages, prayer books were seen as “luxury goods”. They were meant for the private devotions of usually high-ranking individuals, were sumptuously bound and ornamented by the most important illuminators of the time. One of the most important illuminators was Albrecht Glockendon from Nuremberg.
