The special exhibit

In 2019 the Austrian National Library presents six "special exhibits" from their rich holdings, which for reasons of conservation can be exhibited only rarely in public. These fascinating objects are displayed in our State Hall.

Ödön von Horváths „Adieu, Europa!“

In 1938 Ödön von Horváth was planning a new novel, “Adieu Europa!” Only 15 hand- and typewritten pages of the project have survived. The highly autobiographical work was intended to be about revolution and emigration, centring on an author as the first-person narrator.
