Discover the Austrian National Library and its five museums together with your school class. Draw from the range of age-appropriate guided tours. Arrange either a regular 45-minute tour or choose the extended 90-minute tour, for instance by combining a visit to the Baroque State Hall at Josefsplatz with the service facility of the Modern Library at Heldenplatz.
In one of the most magnificent library rooms in the world, your pupils will experience a journey from the Baroque period to the present, encountering the old favourites of Greek mythology that bring the ceiling fresco to life. In addition to the guided tour of the State Hall, you may also get a brief overview of the current special exhibition.
The guided tour of this unique museum informs your pupils about the most successful planned language in the world: Esperanto. They also learn about many other invented languages at interactive media stations, such as the famous Klingon from the TV series “Star Trek”. Tip: combine the tour with a crash course in Esperanto.
Read, listen, see, marvel: we offer guided tours for school groups starting from the seventh grade to show pupils the highlights of our permanent exhibition. They will gain an insight into the many varied literary forms of expression. They will experience literature in different media, from manuscripts and books to audio plays, music and film. They will be inspired to think about the objects and their stories and learn that literature can be fun.
Tip: combine the tour with a writing workshop.
