Discover in the Papyrus Museum around 300 fascinating objects from the Department of Papyri as permanent exhibits. In addition to this, we invite you to special exhibitions, grant you an insight into current research work and give you access to extraordinary objects.

Christmas opening hours museums On 24 December the museums of the Austrian National Library are open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. On all other days including 6 January the regular opening hours are valid.

Opening hours 7 and 8 December Due to an event the State Hall and the Papyri Museum as well as all our facilities at Josefplatz and Heldenplatz stay closed on the 7 and 8 December 2017. For all the other museums and facilities the regular opening hours are valid.
