The Department of Planned Languages of the Austrian National Library is home to the world’s largest specialist library for interlinguistics, documenting around 500 planned languages. In addition to Esperanto, the most important planned language in the world today, these also include Volapük, Ido, Interlingua and many others. In the department’s reading room, discover a whole host of books and magazines in planned languages, multifaceted archives and impressive musical recordings and films.

Access to the Department of Planned Languages
Due to renovation of the Esperanto Museum from 20 February to 5 March 2017 the access to the Department of Planned Languages is only possible via side entrance (located in the entrance area of the building). Please note the mounted signs. We ensure you regular service, the usual opening times apply.
