„Ground plan of the city of Sanaa“

„I would have wished to draw a ground plan of this city, too. But whenever I entered the street I was immediately surrounded by curious people and escorted everywhere. Under these circumstances I didn’t consider it adviseable to look often at the compass and to note down the lines and angles. In order to give, for now, a better concept of the site of this famous city, I drafted one on plate LXX.“
