Use of items
To make use of the facilities of the Department of Music you need a valid ID with a photo and a client card of the Austrian National Library. The Department of Music is basically a non-lending library.
Use of the original manuscripts is on grounds of conservation possible only in a limited way. A maximum of 5 objects a day can be issued.
Times of consultation:
Mon - Wed: 9.30, 10.30, 11.30, 13.00, 14.00, 14.45
Thu: 13.00, 14.00, 15.00
Fri: 9.30, 10.30, 11.30
Items issued until the next time of consultation.
For information on the holdings and research possibilities the staff at the information desk in the reading room are happy to serve you.
Reproductions
Making copies of secondary literature is possible after prior arrangement, using a coin copier, if there is no problem from the point of view of conservation. Copies of secondary literature done by the staff can be collected 2 – 3 work days later.
For reproduction of manuscripts scans, microfilm, and photographs can be handed over to us.
Loans for exhibitions
Written requests for loans with the names of the objects sought (if possible with call numbers) are to be directed to the head official of the Department with the name of the borrower, the title of the exhibition, the place and duration of the exhibition.
