Support the Austrian National Library!

With approximately 8 million objects, such as books, music manuscripts, photos, drawings, posters, maps, globes and papyri, the Austrian National Library is one of the world's most valuable libraries. For centuries it was the main centre of knowledge of the Habsburg Empire. Its origins go back to the 14th century. Today priceless treasures are kept there in eight departments, and UNESCO has declared many of them world heritage documents. Individual pieces in the valuable holdings are now urgently in need of restoration. Among the great challenges we face is the long-term preservation of the collection holdings. Help us to save our common cultural heritage for future generations.
