Among the present holdings are lifetime and posthumous estates, partial and fractional estates, and also collections and depositions by and to, among others, Günther Anders, Ingeborg Bachmann, Peter Handke, Ödön von Horváth, Ernst Jandl, Robert Menasse, Gerhard Rühm, Hilde Spiel and Oswald Wiener.

Literature Museum

The Literature Museum of the Austrian National Library presents Austrian literature from the 18th century to the present – comprehensively and in all its variety

Literary Archives

The Literary Archives of the Austrian National Library collects and makes accessible literary estates (lifetime and posthumous) of Austrian authors from the 20th century (especially after 1945) to make them available for scholarly analysis.

Moreover, the Literary Archives offers upon prior reservation 550 hours of audio documents that have been already digitalized. You can listen to direct quotes of i.a. Albert Drach, Gustav Ernst, Erich Fried, Ernst Jandl, Elfriede Gerstl, Günter Grass, Josef Haslinger, Peter Henisch, Alfred Kolleritsch, Friederike Mayröcker, Herta Müller, Gerhard Rühm, Hilde Spiel and Oswald Wiener.
