§ 1 Scope of validity
- These standard business conditions are valid for the services offered online in the "Ticket-Shop" of the Austrian National Library. With an order the person ordering accepts these business conditions. Agreements made outside these conditions must be made in writing
§ 2 Subject of contract and conclusion of contract
- The subject of the contract is the payable delivery of museum tickets, guided tours, and library tickets. The Austrian National Library reserves to itself the right to change the service offered at any time. In addition, the ticket shop offers the possibility of supporting the Austrian National Library in the form of a donation.
§ 3 Conclusion of contract and language thereof
- Offers made by the Austrian National Library are binding. The contract is sealed by the sending of an order by the person involved.
- The contract and information that refers to the contents of the contract (customer service, customer complaints) are to be in the German language.
§ 4 Payment
- In the course of execution of payment the person ordering is passed on to the payment platform wire ticket. When payment is made the ordering process is finished and the person ordering will receive confirmation by e-mail.
- The prices set out by the scale of fees fixed by the Austrian National Library are valid as at the time when the order is placed, with the modification that concession tickets can be obtained only at the on-spot box office. Tickets obtained through the ticket shop of the Austrian National Library cannot be exchanged and a refund is not possible.
- Museum tickets: children and adolescents under 19 years of age have free admission to the museum areas of the Austrian National Library and have a right to receive a free ticket. If requested by the staff of the Austrian National Library a photo ID to check a free ticket must be produced.
- Guided tours: the cost of a guided tour is already included in the cost of admission. Guided tours for children can be booked but only if at least one adult accompanies them. For a guided tour for a school class a maximum of 4 accompanying adults can be booked without additional costs.
§ 6 Allocation
- Tickets for the museum areas (State Hall, Esperanto-, Globe- and Papyrus Museum):
- Day Tickets and Universal Week Tickets: after a successful ordering the chosen ticket will be allocated on a self-serve printout. The ticket will be shown on the desk top as a PDF file and sent in addition to the e-mail address given on the ordering process. If chosen by the person ordering, the ticket will also be sent to the given telephone number as an SMS. Day Tickets are valid for six months from the date of conclusion of the contract and permit one entrance within that time span. Universal Week Tickets are valid for 7 days after conclusion of the contract.
- Annual Tickets: after a successful ordering a confirmation will be allocated for self-serve printing. The confirmation will be sent directly to the desktop as a PDF file and in addition to the e-mail address given in the ordering process. Annual Tickets are to be collected at one of the three service desks (Heldenplatz, Josefsplatz, Palais Mollard) of the Austrian National Library by showing the printed confirmation. An Annual Ticket is valid for one year from the conclusion of the contract.
- Guided tours: after a successful ordering the chosen ticket will be allocated for self-serve printing. The ticket will be sent to the desktop as a PDF file and in addition to the e-mail address given in the ordering process. If the person ordering chooses, the ticket will also be sent to a given telephone number by SMS. A guided tour booking is valid exclusively for the time booked or for the chosen exhibition.
- Library tickets:
- Day Tickets: after a successful ordering a Day Ticket will be allocated for self-serve printing out. The ticket will be shown on the desktop as a PDF file and in addition sent to the e-mail address given in the ordering process. If the person ordering chooses, the ticket will be sent to a given telephone number by SMS. Day Tickets are valid for 14 calendar days from the date of the conclusion of the contract and permit one entrance within that time span.
- Annual Tickets: after a successful ordering a confirmation will be sent for self-serve printing out. The confirmation will be sent directly to the desktop as a PDF file and in addition to an e-mail address given in the ordering process. Annual Tickets are to be collected at one of the three service desks (Heldenplatz, Josefsplatz, Palais Mollard) of the Austrian National Library by producing the printed confirmation. Annual Tickets are valid for one year from the date of the conclusion of the contract.
§ 7 Cancellation of guided tours
- Cancellation of a guided tour by the person ordering can be accepted free of charge up to three days before the start of the guided tour. If a cancellation is made later than three days before the start of a guided tour a cancellation fee will be charged: 20 EUR (school groups) or 40 EUR(other groups). From the start of a guided tour the full price must be paid. .
§ 8 Right of withdrawal of a long-distance booking
- Clients who are consumers as defined by the Law for Protection of Consumers can withdraw from contracts regarding services within 7 working days of the conclusion of the contract without stating the grounds. Once the service has begun there is no right of withdrawal. Right of withdrawal is not possible in the case of donations, of tickets allocated as PDF files, and of Annual Tickets that have already been allocated and are held for collection at a service desk of the Austrian National Library.
§ 9 Protection of data
- Data referring to persons are processed and used exclusively in accordance with the rules of the Law for Protection of Data of 2000.
- Personal details supplied by the person ordering are processed and saved when relevant to the order for purposes of our accounting, of evidence of the person ordering, of processing and fulfilment of the contract in the framework of the legal requirement of conservation of invoices.
- The Austrian National Library can engage third parties to carry out its tasks, especially for handling of data involved in those tasks and for implementation of monetary transactions. Those third parties are obliged to handle the data confidentially and to use data on the clients only in connection with the contract made with the person ordering.
- Data will be utilised for sending information messages only with the explicit consent of the person ordering, and that consent may be refused at any time.
§ 10 Other topics
- If details supplied are incorrect the person ordering is liable to refund the Austrian National Library for losses involved.
- If individual clauses of these business conditions should be or become invalid, that does not concern the validity of the remaining regulations.
- Austrian law as agreed upon is the basis for these transactions, including for deliveries and services in other countries. The application of the United Nations Convention on Contracts is explicitly excluded.
- If the person ordering is not a consumer according to § 1 para. 1 Z 2 KSchG, Vienna is the site of all legal disputes and their settlement.
