		We aim to purchase publications on the following: Bibliographies, reference works and research reports Biographies and women's literature Literature on feminist theory Research projects on topics such as: the history of feminism, philosophy, the feminist movement, politics and society, socialization and sexual discrimination, psychology, feminist theology and religion, language and literature, art and culture, education and science, etc. Important feminist periodicals An annotated selection of acquisitions is available in the Ariadne-NewsLetter. Women specific books from the Austrian National Library can be researched via Aleph-OPAC (Austrian Library Catalogue). Please forward to us suggestions for women specific books the library should acquire.

		Documentation
		Since 1992 our Ariadne database on women's and gender studies has been compiled for articles published in journals, anthologies, etc. (see list of indexed journals. The Austrian National Library's holdings are therefore catalogued according to the following main criteria: Austriaca (= literature by/about Austrians or Austria) International feminist literature, particularly in the field of the humanities Grey literature (= literature without an official publisher) The database records formal entries as well as subject key words (feminist subject indexing, systematic classification, also abstracts and commentaries) and offers several indexes (e.g. authors, corporations, subject headings, titles, periodicals and serials, etc.). Documents can also be searched with Boolean operators (AND, OR).

		Special Holdings
		The Austrian National Library and Ariadne offer our users also special holdings specific to women (e.g. CD_Roms, microfilm, special donations, etc.) and free access to certain databases. We have put together a corresponding list.
